Why does seeing Shahrukh and Katrina together actually make me sad? And I mean it. Sad, really. Not hating on her or anything, but this pairing is just such a huge disappointment…. Everytime I read or hear about that Chopra film… I just get sad for real. I am trying to keep an…
And what about Preity? btw… Slake a feel the same, but I’ve got a weird feeling about Anushka as well. :S whatever. SRK will be back with his romantic side…and that’s all what we want! Am I right? :)
yeah That’s totally true ”SpaceMaid” (i dunno what your name is xD)
i totally agree with all the things you said
Seeing Preity and him together again would just kill me with happiness. I love Preity and I think they make a really timeless couple that goes so much deeper than just lovers. It’s almost like… Soulmates? If that makes sense. xD They just always have this connection that is so much stronger than the rest. A life or death situation if they are ever apart.
Maybe it’s just because of the movies they are in together where they played characters that were that loyal and devoted, but I still feel the same all around. xD
I thought SRK and Preity were a cute pair, though they are not really something I would feel. In fact I loved them most in Dil Se, where she was only a supporting actress. BUT to see them together again would be really nice, because she suits him better than many other actresses. Though them two again in a Yash Chopra film would be probably way too Veer-Zaara-ish, and copies are never as good.
She was so sweet in Dil se. xD
And yeah, I think he needed someone new/different but not… Katrina… Even someone more like Rani or, as I said before, Priyanka. <8\
I agree. It’s not like I dislike Katrina, but the expactations for this (esp. considering her) are just really - low. I don’t expect much from her and this movie which makes me feel, like bollymusings said, really sad. Sad because of the fact that Shahrukh & Yash Chopra are part of this. Sad because the chance of an old SRK-couple’s reunion in a Yash Chopra movie got wasted. Sad because people who watch every single SRK movie, including me, are still going to watch this while thinking how sad and awkward it’s going to be. “Disappointment” suits it even better than “Low expectation”. And Katrina is going to have a hard time as well, because all eyes are on her, it’s probably a huge step in her career.
Speaking of Preity, Yash Chopra made her the leading actress in Veer-Zaara, because she mostly played “westernized” & inappropriate characters like in Kya Kehna, Armaan and Chori Chori Chupke Chupke before. So it was somehow a challenge and Yashji was totally right to entrust Zaara to her- she has the talent, their is no other Zaara in my eyes. It could be the same with Katrina now, he maybe wants to experiment with a new face alongside Shahrukh (new face seems rather ironic though). But there are two differences between these two ladies: Preity was probably not as popular as Katrina is right now so she had to count on her acting abilities. She already got some recognition for Dil Chahta Hai and Kal Ho Naa Ho, but she shot to huge fame after Veer-Zaara. Katrina’s popularity can be her advantage and yet her disadvantage. We all know the way she delivers a performance so - nah. The second difference is obviously the talent.
Oh and speaking of the SRK-Preity couple. I agree that they are fabulous together. They created Bollywood history with those few movies they have together. But I don’t agree that they resemble soulemates. Because this couple is well-known for never having the luck to actually end up together (except for Veer-Zaara which was kinda a last-minute reunion as well lol). I still of course would FUCKING love to see them together on screen again, because it’d give them an other opportunity to have a happy ending together :) Together in a Yash film again doesn’t necessarily have to be a Veer-Zaara flashback trip, as long as the setting, story, everything is completly different. I didn’t experience that with Saif & Rani in Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic either which is made by the same director as Hum Tum.
But yeah, this is going to be either reaaalllyyy disappointing and sad to watch or maybe surprisingly good. Guess I have to rely on the script. All the pressure on Yashji for pulling something nice out of this.
